Sensational setting off the beaten path
Our second year at the cottage and we've been looking forward to it all year. Paddling the pond at dawn in the quiet before the winds picked up, meals on the porch to catch early light and spectacular sunsets, bring your telescope for star-gazing. Magnificent big sky, roaring surf beyond the dunes, beautiful paths through wind-sculpted oak forests. Spacious open kitchen/dining/living with light and views. Yes, the oven consistently went rogue to high temps and lights were minimal in living and bedrooms, but otherwise a wonderful place. If you are a neat freak, you may be fighting the urge to wash windows and woodwork. Our suggestion: glory in the natural setting.

Glamping
I will start by saying that my family loves this place and plans to return. However, you should know what to expect.
WhatÂ’s it is:
- simple/ rustic accommodations in an absolutely gorgeous location - truly stunning.
What it is not/ does not have:
- comfortable beds. The mattresses should have been replaced years ago. Hard to sleep whether you have a bad back or not - terrible. Consider bringing blow up mattress.
- proximity to town. A pro for us, but we come prepared.
- high speed internet
- reliable cell signal
- well appointed furniture, cookware, dishes

Unbeatable setting
To be alone in the magnificence of Long Point was extraordinary. Canoes and kayaks were supplied, and having boats right at hand was a great plus for us. Pond, coves and ocean all right there--wow! The cottage, a former duck-hunting lodge, is gradually being updated. The open kitchen, dining and living area is inviting. The bedrooms are all off a long hall, sort of like a dorm, but are comfortable. Only one bath (though a second toilet in laundry room), but it's been nicely updated. All new windows with screens. There are lots of reminders of the rustic origins, but overall worked well except for some problems with the oven. Kitchen well-equipped. Caretaker very responsive and helpful. Be aware that this is a remote location, about 15 minutes on a one lane dirt road that can be confusing at first. Good wifi keeps you in touch with outside world!

Great week in a unique spot
My family and I had a great time at this property in August 2020. The location is completely unique...it felt very remote and quiet. Waling to the beach and Tisbury pond was great...and fishing for stripers on the pond was fun as well. Dave was great as a host...we didnt need much but what we did need he readily supplied. Thanks!!
