Covid-19 and Summer Vacation 2020 Questions and Answers

Now that States and Cities are beginning to reopen, many of our tenants previous and new, have questions regarding their Martha’s Vineyard summer vacation. Below you will find answers to some of the most important questions you may have regarding your upcoming summer vacation.

Will The Ferries Be Operating This Summer?

 Yes, the ferries will be running, but it is possible that there will be changes to the schedule. We suggest that you visit the Steamship Authority website for detailed information regarding the ferry schedule. https://www.steamshipauthority.com/visitors/vineyard

What Cleaning Protocols Are In Place To Ensure My Family’s Safety During Our Stay On Martha’s Vineyard?

We are working closely with rental owners to create a comprehensive set of cleaning and hygiene protocols that comply with the standards set forth by the Center for Disease Control. These protocols apply to:

High Touch and Hard Surfaces

Soft Surfaces

Bedding

Will Restaurant’s And Beaches Be Open? 

At this time we do not know for certain what the status and/or protocols will be for beaches and restaurants. We will keep you informed.

Will We Get A Refund If We Are Not Able To Travel Due To The Covid-19 Pandemic?  

Sandpiper Rentals offers a cancellation addendum allowing for a full refund should you need to cancel your reservation due to Covid-19. The aforementioned addendum does not apply to commissions or processing fees paid to date.

Please keep in mind that this addendum applies only to newly booked rentals and is not applicable to previously booked rentals. Previously booked rentals have a cancellation clause that remains in effect.

50 Weeks of Giving: Week 50

In celebration of Sandpiper Realty and Sandpiper Rental’s 50th Anniversary, we will be making $200 donations each week throughout the year to local non-profits. The 50th donation of our 50 Weeks of Giving initiative is going to Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Each year, Elder Services delivers over 200,000 meals to elders in each town of the Cape and Islands. In addition, they serve over 40,000 meals at their 16 Senior Dining Centers. They provide in-home services to over 2,300 frail seniors,  investigate over 700 reports of elder abuse, answer over 9,000 phone calls to Information and Referral Department…and much more!
