When asked what I like best about rentals it is an easy response. Everything…
Returning travelers, new travelers, brides, previewing new houses, the list goes on.
But when it comes down to it, it is the relationships that are built and the lovely tenants I work with that keep me in the position I am in. I pride myself with providing my very honest opinion so that on arrival day, despite what the New England weather brings, everyone is happy. And of course, on checkout, you’re ready to plan for next year.
Quick tips for new tenants:
Get to know your locations: There are so many beautiful places on the Island. From quiet and quaint, to down town I am happy to discuss in detail and find the right match.
Book early: I know it sounds like a sales pitch yet it is imperative to at least take a look at your options a year in advance. If you cannot decide that soon, January is the month. With the ferry reservations opening up the second week of January, that is your deadline if your travel is reliant on the ferry.
30 days prior to your arrival: Do your best to make a plan. Book your charters, have your fridge stocked, and reserve your tee times. If looking at properties for sale while you are here, we have a full team that we work extremely close with that would be happy to help you.
While you are here…..ENJOY yourself!!! Don’t forget all the cheesy things. Long walks on the beach, sunset picnics, acting out the Titanic scene while on the ferry….You’re on VACATION!
Get to know a little bit about me; I am one of our only born and raised Islanders. I grew up in West Tisbury and spent summers sailing with my family and exploring all aspects of the Island. After college and a potential move elsewhere I thought long and hard and decided the Island was where I wanted to be. After being in a big city there is nothing like home. The island has such wonderful qualities and I could not imagine being anywhere else. Now a resident of Edgartown (the big city of Martha’s Vineyard) with my husband, new son, and our two bulldogs…..a true Island family.
New for me this year is taking the rental process one step further by offering rental consulting. A service that will take your rental property to the next level….. offering ideas for interior and exterior enhancements, as well as how to stock the house with all the musts for happy tenants. Facilitating the process from start to finish.
